Resumen

Comprender las interacciones entre especies es esencial para determinar varias características ecológicas. Numerosos estudios sobre depredación de ranas por arañas muestran que estas últimas son a menudo depredadores oportunistas y generalistas, capaces de depredar una amplia variedad de especies. Los eventos de depredación se documentan con mayor frecuencia en el Neotrópico. Este estudio proporciona evidencia de la depredación de un Pristimantis kichwarum por una araña del género Spinoctenus (Ctenidae) cerca de la Reserva Iloculin-Llanganates. Nuestros hallazgos contribuyen a la comprensión de la compleja dinámica depredador-presa dentro de las redes tróficas tropicales y destacan la importancia de estudiar estas interacciones para mejorar el conocimiento de la dinámica ecológica y la conservación de la biodiversidad.
