DEPREDACIÓN DE UNA HEMBRA REPRODUCTIVA DEL LAGARTO Diploglossus monotropis (SQUAMATA: DIPLOGLOSSIDAE) POR UNA ZARIGÜEYA COMÚN EN EL CHOCÓ ECUATORIANO

Reportamos un probable evento de depredación por parte de una zarigüeya común (Didelphis marsupialis) sobre una hembra del lagarto Diploglossus monotropis en el Chocó ecuatoriano (provincia de Esmeraldas) durante la temporada de lluvias. Entre los restos del lagarto encontramos un ovocito en avanzado desarrollo, lo que permitió identificar a la hembra como reproductiva. Este constituye uno de los pocos casos documentados de depredación sobre esta especie y representa el primer indicio de su fenología reproductiva en estado silvestre.
