ANÁLISIS DE LA DIETA DE LA CHIRRIONERA NEOTROPICAL Masticophis mentovarius (SQUAMATA: COLUBRIDAE) CON DOS NUEVOS REGISTROS DE PRESA EN LA CUENCA DEL BALSAS, GUERRERO, MÉXICO

Resumen

Documentamos los primeros registros de la tortuga casquito (Kinosternon integrum) y de la matraca del Balsas (Campylorhynchus jocosus) como presas de la chirrionera neotropical (Masticophis mentovarius) en la localidad de Tianquizolco, municipio de Cuetzala del Progreso, Guerrero, México, en la provincia biogeográfica de la Cuenca del Balsas, una región biológicamente submuestreada. Este hallazgo amplía el espectro trófico conocido de la especie. Asimismo, presentamos una síntesis actualizada de los registros de dieta previamente documentados. Con base en la evidencia disponible, concluimos que las lagartijas y los mamíferos constituyen los principales componentes de la dieta de M. mentovarius, mientras que otros grupos, como anfibios, aves, peces, insectos y serpientes, son consumidos de manera ocasional u oportunista.
