PROTOCOLO DE MARCADO INDIVIDUAL MEDIANTE IMPLANTES VISIBLES DE ELASTÓMEROS (IVE) PARA ANFIBIOS ANUROS DE PEQUEÑO TAMAÑO

La individualización de ejemplares es fundamental en estudios ecológicos y comportamentales en anfibios anuros. Desarrollamos y evaluamos la efectividad de un protocolo de marcado con Implantes Visibles de Elastómeros (IVE) en anuros de pequeño tamaño, utilizando como especie modelo a la rana de desarrollo directo Oreobates berdemenos del noroeste de Argentina. El protocolo de marcado consideró diez regiones específicas de las extremidades anteriores y posteriores del individuo, limitando la aplicación a un máximo de dos marcas no contiguas para minimizar errores por migración del polímero. Las pruebas de campo realizadas en O. berdemenos demostraron una alta tasa de recaptura (61 %) y una retención efectiva de hasta 37 días. La técnica es económica, poco invasiva y facilita la identificación in situ sin la necesidad de manipular a los individuos marcados. Recomendamos este protocolo para estudios a corto y mediano plazo en especies de anuros pequeñas, con coloración críptica y comportamiento territorial.
