Resumen

Aunque las serpientes del género Tantilla están ampliamente distribuidas en gran parte del hemisferio occidental, muchos aspectos de su distribución y ecología siguen siendo desconocidos. Aquí presentamos registros adicionales de distribución de Tantilla schistosa en el estado de Chiapas, México. También, exploramos la literatura inconsistente con respecto al rango de distribución y altitud de la especie, y aumentamos el conocimiento de su hábitat, relaciones depredador-presa y estado de conservación. Nuestro trabajo destaca el valor de usar múltiples fuentes de datos para producir una comprensión más cohesiva de la distribución geográfica y la historia natural de especies poco conocidas.
