PRIMER REGISTRO DE LA CECILIA MEXICANA, Dermophis mexicanus (DERMOPHIIDAE), EN COSTA RICA

Esta nota proporciona el primer registro de la cecilia mexicana (Dermophis mexicanus) en Costa Rica. La distribución conocida de esta especie cubría desde el sureste de México hasta el centro de Nicaragua. La revisión morfológica y genética de un individuo encontrado en Cóbano, Puntarenas, en la Península de Nicoya confirma su presencia en Costa Rica y aumenta la distribución de la especie 260 km al sur.
