Abstract

The herpetofauna is an important group in food chains, being predators and preys. Among its predators, birds of prey or raptors are recognized as a group that takes advantage of amphibians and reptiles as a source of food, with some species of raptors with high preference for the herpetofauna. In this study we report eight cases of predation of reptiles by raptors in different geographical locations of the Yucatán Peninsula.
