Abstract

The Anuran Sound Collection of the Museum of Zoology of the Faculty of Science has 15,500 recordings. From those recordings 27 species, 18 genera, and 10 families have been identified so far. Most of them from the Lacandon forest of Chiapas, Mexico. The most represented families are Hylidae (10 species) y Craugastoridae (three species). This sound library stores the calls of five species that are listed in risk category by the Official Mexican Norm 059.  Most of the recordings were obtained from the same locality, however, we expect to expand our reservoir of recordings and sampled areas in a near future with the contribution of the scientific, and general public communities. We highlight the importance of this acoustic library being the first of its kind in Mexico.
