Abstract

Spider predation to herpetozoans has been reported south of Veracruz in a tropical climate. However, this is the first case report of the predation of the collared coffee snake (Ninia diademata) by a black widow spider (Latrodectus mactans; ♀) in central Veracruz in a temperate climate. This information is important to increase the knowledge of the multitrophic interactions in the ecosystems that occur in the High Mountains Region, Veracruz, Mexico.
