Abstract

We report the finding of two adult individuals of the toad Telmatobufo venustus, associated with a rushing stream and a temperate environment of Nothofagus forest, in the commune of San Fabian de Alico, Ñuble Region. The individuals were found during the night, in the summer of 2019. This new population, whose location required confirmation, is geographically isolated 130 km to the south and 72 km to the north of the closest localities with previously registered populations. This finding contributes to the knowledge of the fragmented geographic distribution of this species.
