Abstract

We report an unusual case of natural mummification in an specimen of Rhinella horribilis collected more than thirty years ago at Ignacio Romero Vargas in the northwest of the city of Puebla, Mexico. The mummified toad provides relevant information on a previously unrecorded taxon for the herpetofauna of the municipality of Puebla; however, all cane toad population went extinct due to the environmental impact provoked by the rapid urbanization of the zone during the last decades.
