We report the first predation event of a Rosebelly Lizard (Sceloporus variabilis) by a Blunthead Tree Snake (Imantodes cenchoa) in a rainforest area of the Sierra Mazateca in the state of Oaxaca, Mexico. With this record, another item is incorporated into the diet of I. cenchoa that previously included frog eggs, frogs, lizard eggs, and lizards of the genus Anolis, as well as geckos of the genus Gonadotes. This event contributes to the knowledge of the trophic interactions of both species in this little explored and highly diverse region of Mexico.
