Abstract

Recent studies concerning Hidalgo’s herpetofauna just contemplate one species of the genus Pituophis extant in the State (P. deppei). However, there are previous records of P. catenifer that have not been taken into account. In addition, from field work conducted in Northern Hidalgo, four supplementary organisms of P. catenifer were registered in the municipalities of San Felipe Orizatlán and Huejutla de Reyes, which corroborate the presence of this species in Hidalgo.
