The diet of colubrid snakes is based mainly on birds, small mammals, lizards, and in some cases, eggs and invertebrates. There is evidence that snakes of the genus Leptodeira, a group of nocturnal arboreal snakes, feed primarily on amphibians. However, few aspects of the natural history of the snake Leptodeira septentrionalis are known. Based on a photographed observation in the community of San Andrés Tzicuilan, Cuetzalan, Puebla, we report the first record of L. septentrionalis depredating on Incilius cristatus.
